Thailand Pre-Wedding Shoot – Beaches, Culture & Contemporary Romance
Why Choose Thailand
Thailand is a Southeast Asian country. It's known for tropical beaches, opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha. In Bangkok, the capital, an ultramodern cityscape rises next to quiet canalside communities and the iconic temples of Wat Arun, Wat Pho and the Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaew). Nearby beach resorts include bustling Pattaya and fashionable Hua Hin.

Logistics & Legal Clearances
Key Visa Summary
Indian ordinary passport holders travelling for tourism currently enter under tourist visa / visa-exemption policies. Pre-departure online registration may apply.
Permissions & Drone Guidance
Commercial photography permits apply for specific heritage sites and private resorts. Drone flights strictly require local aviation clearance and venue approvals.
For Indian Travellers:
Indian ordinary passport holders travelling to Thailand for tourism can currently enter under Thailand's 30-day visa-exemption scheme, effective from 15 September 2026. Travellers planning a longer stay or travelling under another purpose/category should check the applicable Thai e-Visa requirements before departure. สถานเอกอัครราชทูตไทย ณ กรุงนิวเดลี
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC):
All non-Thai nationals entering Thailand are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival. It can be submitted within 3 days before arrival, including the arrival date, and requires passport, travel, accommodation and related information. TDAC itself is not a visa and has no fee.
Recommended Travel Documents:
Keep your valid passport, confirmed return/onward flight details, hotel/accommodation confirmation, TDAC confirmation and other documents required by Thai immigration readily available during travel.
Important for Professional Pre-Wedding Shoots:
A couple entering as tourists and a professional production crew working on a commercial shoot may not necessarily fall under the same immigration/work/filming requirements. Thailand's official e-Visa system specifically lists “Media & Film Crew Visas” as a separate category. Therefore, Shining Frame Films should verify the appropriate visa/work/filming permissions for travelling crew before every professional production rather than assuming tourist visa-exemption covers commercial shooting. Thailand E-Visa
Photography & Drone Formalities:
Professional shooting permissions, property/resort charges and drone requirements can vary by location. These should be checked and arranged separately before confirming drone or restricted-location coverage.
Website Disclaimer:
Visa, immigration, filming, drone and entry regulations may change. Clients and travelling crew should verify the latest requirements with the relevant Thai authorities before booking or travelling. Shining Frame Films can assist with shoot planning, but final entry and regulatory approval remains subject to the concerned authorities.
Short Version for Destination Card:
Visa & Formalities: Indian tourists currently enjoy visa-exempt entry to Thailand for stays of up to 30 days. TDAC registration is required before arrival. Professional filming, crew and drone permissions are subject to applicable Thai regulations.

Shoot & Drone Permission Guidelines
Professional Shoot Permission:
Pre-wedding photography and cinematography in Thailand may require prior permission depending on the selected location. Resorts, hotels, temples, heritage sites, private properties, islands and managed tourist attractions may have their own rules, commercial-shoot charges, time restrictions or advance-approval requirements.
Before confirming the final itinerary, Shining Frame Films will check the applicable shooting requirements for the selected locations. Location charges and government/private permissions, where required, should be treated separately unless specifically included in the final quotation.
Drone Photography & Cinematography
Drone filming in Thailand is regulated and should be planned in advance. The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) provides registration procedures for drone pilots and aircraft through its UAS system. CAAT
For applicable operations, planning may involve:
- Registration of the drone pilot and aircraft with CAAT.
- Checking whether the intended location falls within a prohibited, restricted, dangerous or otherwise controlled flight area.
- Obtaining permission from the property owner or person responsible for the location where applicable.
- Maintaining applicable third-party insurance; CAAT guidance for standard operations references THB 1 million third-party coverage among required documentation. uasportal.caat.or.th
- Complying with permitted altitude, operating time and other flight conditions.
- Obtaining additional/special authorisation where the proposed flight falls outside standard operating conditions. CAAT
Current Operational Considerations
Thailand's drone restrictions can change in response to security conditions. CAAT's February 2026 notice, for example, requires registered pilots/aircraft and advance flight applications for covered operations through the UAS Portal, retains security-related no-fly areas, and sets additional conditions for flights outside specified hours. CAAT
Therefore, drone coverage should never be guaranteed solely at the time of package booking.
Important for Bangkok
Bangkok has specific restricted-airspace considerations; CAAT separately publishes rules concerning authorisation for unmanned aircraft within the VT R1 Bangkok City restricted area. CAAT
For Bangkok pre-wedding productions, the exact location must therefore be checked before confirming aerial cinematography.
Phuket, Krabi & Island Shoots
For Phuket, Krabi and island-based productions, the production team should verify:
Local property/location permission • applicable commercial shoot fee • drone flight eligibility • airspace restrictions • take-off/landing permission • weather conditions • boat/island access • resort rules
A visually suitable location does not automatically mean professional photography or drone operation is permitted there.
Recommended Planning Time
For an international production, Shining Frame Films should collect the final locations well before travel and begin permission checks in advance. Some current CAAT security-related operating rules require applications at least 3 days before the intended flight, but this should not be treated as the planning target; complex commercial shoots should allow considerably more time. CAAT

Shoot & Drone Permission:
Professional photography, cinematography and drone operations are subject to local regulations, property rules, aviation restrictions, weather conditions and approval from the relevant authorities or location owners. Drone coverage is therefore subject to feasibility and cannot be guaranteed until the required permissions are confirmed. Any applicable permit, location, insurance, local coordination or government charges will be communicated separately unless specifically included in the selected package.

Shoot & Drone Permission:
Professional and drone shooting is subject to location approval and applicable Thai regulations. Drone feasibility and required permissions will be verified before the final shoot schedule is confirmed.
Official drone registration and current rules should always be checked through the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) before each Thailand assignment.
